Fordite and Sterling Silver Earrings
Fordite (a.k.a. Detroit Agate) and sterling silver earrings. Approximate dimensions are 1-1/4"L x 11/16"W.
Fordite, also known as Detroit Agate, is many layers of old Ford Motor Company car paint. When they used to spray the paint on the cars, the layers of paint would build up on the racks and go into the kilns to cure. After many hundred of paintings, they would chip the built up paint off the racks! What an amazing way to repurpose what would be otherwise considered trash.
